The story behind our new role names

11 December 2023

The time has come. Model Baarda has new role names.

The common thread in our search, though, has been that the strength of each role had to splash off.

That search certainly did not happen overnight. Because so many people, so many opinions and you can't escape the fact that everyone has their own associations with certain words. In the end, it is all language. So it will never be perfect.

We tell you why our choice fell on the new role names:

The Tackler

Tacklers know how to get things done. They are the hard workers who do not turn their hand to physical labour to deliver the agreed production. That is why they deserve this all-important role name with a glove as icon.

The Vakracht

The Skilled Worker already had an honourable designation. They master a trade and can work with the tools needed for the job like no other. That craftsmanship is reflected in their icon.

The Controller

What are Regulators great at? Precisely, in solving a wide range of practical, everyday problems. Organising, planning, organising, anticipating and improvising are skills that are right up their street. The drawing pin symbolises the practical, the role name is the skill in which Regulators excel.

The Expert

The Expert is the one with specific expertise in a particular field. The Expert can analyse and get to the bottom of difficult problems, before bringing those to resolution methodically and systematically.... So no wonder we ended up with the role name of Expert here.

The director

Think of whoever takes the reins on important issues. Issues that require weighing up large, often conflicting interests that need to be reconciled. Managing that consistency based on one's own vision is called stakeholder management. And that is exactly what the Director in model Baarda does.

The Inspirer

The Inspirer gets his name from his ability to inspire others, often Directors, with his completely unique view of reality. With this special competence, the Inspirator points clients and colleagues in the direction of new horizons, fundamental changes that are necessary to secure the continuity of the organisation. A true Inspirer, in other words!

The Navigator

The Navigator knows where business is heading, sets the course and pilots the ship towards safe harbour. The Navigator understands the art of navigation, even in bad weather, obstacles and setbacks. The crew can rely on the Navigator's compass, that's for sure.

The Chess Player

Extremely complex organisations that operate primarily from business development need a Chess player. The Chess player plays his game on various boards on which positions are involved here and now with regard to building up and breaking down markets. But on which social and cultural issues also unfold that require a very long-term vision. At times thwarted again by the interests of shareholders who favour a shorter perspective.
